Weather Situation

A cold front and its associated trough are crossing the state today, bringing windy and showery conditions, mainly on the ranges and western slopes. The front is forecast to head to the Tasman Sea while the trough continues to cross the northeast on Wednesday, and these systems will be followed by a high pressure ridge drifting across the state midweek. Then, another cold front looks set to cross the state on Friday and Saturday, bringing a return to windy and showery conditions. This second cold front will be followed by a series of cold fronts crossing the state's south during the weekend through early next week, maintaining gusty westerly winds in the south.
