25 May 2007 NEWS UPDATE New automatic weather station for NarranderaInstallation of a new Automatic Weather Station (AWS) at Narrandera Airport, in south western NSW is now complete. The AWS will provide valuable weather data on a 24-hour basis for airport operations and the local community both in town and on the land. Installation of the AWS at Narrandera has been fully funded by the aviation industry in line with the Bureau’s policy that every airport with regular passenger transport should have an AWS. The new AWS will provide hourly measurements of wind speed and direction, air pressure, temperature, humidity and rainfall that is representative of the greater Narrandera area. The AWS will transmit data by telephone line to the Bureau’s NSW Regional Office.
