MONTHLY CLIMATE SUMMARY - NORTHERN TERRITORY
Temperatures over the Northern Territory were well below normal during June. The minimum temperature, averaged over the Territory, was 2.25°C below normal, the second lowest for June since high quality monthly records began in 1950. The mean temperature (average of maximum and minimum) for June was ranked 3rd coldest on record. On the 21st Arltunga reported -4.8ºC, the coldest night across the Territory. Lajamanu AWS in the Victoria River district, Yulara Aero AWS and Territory Grape Farm AWS in the Alice Springs district recorded their respective lowest on record monthly minimum temperatures for June. Ngukurr in the Barkly District recorded the lowest on record mean maximum temperature of 28.3ºC for the month. Maximum temperatures were below average at each recording site in the Territory. Virtually no rain was recorded over the Territory during June, except for some showers about the northeast coast of the Top End.
