MEDIA RELEASE - QUEENSLAND REGIONAL OFFICE

Dry with some temperature extremes during Spring and November in Queensland

Dry conditions prevailed over much of Queensland during November and Spring. Western Queensland was particularly dry with no rainfall recorded during the 3 months of spring at a number of locations including Birdsville and Kowayama, while just 0.4 mm was recorded at Julia Creek and Urandangi.

A cold snap in mid-November brought record cold November temperatures to the southeast and central Queensland, while a hot spell at the end of the month brought record hot November and Spring temperatures to the southern and central interior.

For more details see the Queensland Monthly Climate summary for November and the Queensland Seasonal Climate Summary for Spring.

For further information, please contact Ann Farrell on (07)32398660.
After-hour enquiries should be directed to the senior forecaster on (07)32398750.
