Average September 2005 in Adelaide, but good rains over northern agricultural districts of SA
September 2005 rainfall
Adelaide’s rainfall for September 2005 was 59.2 mm, recorded on 19 days. This is 4.9 mm below the normal of 64.4 mm on 14 days. Last year, 58.0 mm
was recorded in September on 16 days.
The total rainfall for the first nine months of 2005 was 405.0 mm. Last year 472.8 mm was recorded over the same period. The average rainfall for
the first nine months is 460.4 mm.
September 2005 temperatures
The mean maximum temperature for September 2005 was 18.9°C, which is 0.1°C above the normal September mean maximum of 18.8°C. The mean September
maximum last year was 18.4°C.
The mean minimum temperature for September 2005 was 9.7°C, which is 0.1°C above the normal September mean minimum of 9.6°C. Last September, the
mean minimum was 9.1°C.
Preliminary South Australian Rainfall summary for September 2005
Rainfall for South Australia during September was generally above to very much above average over the northern agricultural districts and southern parts of the Pastoral Districts grading to below average in the southeast of the State and the northern Pastoral Districts. Ceduna, where records began in 1939 had 87.0mm, its wettest ever September and three times the monthly average of 29mm. The highest rainfall in the state for September was 98mm at Lenswood in the Mount Lofty ranges.
