This morning the mercury in the minimum thermometer at Kent Town, South Australia, indicated the lowest April temperature on record in Adelaide, with a recording of only 4.6 degrees Celsius at 6.13am.

The previous lowest April temperature occurred in 1917, at the Bureau of Meteorology's old West Terrace site, when the mercury fell to 5.1 degrees.
