ANNUAL CLIMATE SUMMARY - WESTERN AUSTRALIAN REGIONAL OFFICE
Kimberley region likely to set new annual rainfall mark
Weather extremes for stations in the Bureau's WA observational network in 2000
Highest temperature: 47.0 degrees Celsius at Mardie on 8 February

It is too early to establish the highest annual rainfall total for 2000 because many December registrations have yet to be received or verified. However, preliminary figures indicate that some North Kimberley stations are likely to have exceeded the previous highest rainfall total for any Western Australian station in one calendar year, a record held by Jarrahdale with 2169.4mm in 1917. Further details will be provided when available.
