February temperatures, rainfall about average in Perth

Rainfall: Perth received 11.0 millimetres of rain over four days in February this year compared with the average of 13mm over three days. The heaviest daily fall was 9.8mm on the 2nd, making it the wettest February day for 10 years. Last February, Perth recorded 8.2mm over three days. Historically, February rainfall has ranged from a low of 0.0mm in many years to 166.3mm in 1955.

Maximum temperatures: Perth's mean daily maximum temperature of 30.6 degrees Celsius in February was close to the average of 31 degrees. The highest daily maximum for the month of 41.0 degrees on the 9th was the hottest February day for five years. The lowest maximum temperature of 22.2 degrees occurred on the 2nd. Last February, the mean maximum temperature was 30.7 degrees.

Minimum temperatures: Perth's mean daily minimum temperature of 18.0 degrees was above the average of 17 degrees. Daily minima for the month ranged from a cool 10.3 degrees on the 3rd to a warm 24.5 degrees on the 9th.
