New Weather Radar Display

On 15 November 2006 the Bureau published the first stage of a new weather radar display. The enhanced radar viewer has been developed as part of the Radar Network and Doppler Services Upgrade Project (RNDSUP), and is initially available for the new Doppler radars in Adelaide and Brisbane. To view this feature, click on the loops tab at the top left hand corner of the viewer.

The new display has been developed in response to demand for further radar map details and, for the next development stage, to enable integrated display of weather information like thunderstorm movement, rainfall accumulations and local weather observations.
