SE Australia Record Breaking Heatwave

Summary

In late January and early February 2009, Southeast Australia experienced a significant heatwave that affected four states: Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Southern NSW. During this period a large number of temperature records were broken. Details of the heatwave can be found in a report produced by the Bureau's National Climate Centre.
