No significant heatwave areas observed.

The Heatwave Forecast is a Bureau of Meteorology product that shows the location of heatwaves, severe heatwaves and extreme heatwaves for the last two three-day periods and the next five three-day periods. It uses some analysis Numerical Weather Prediction model data, not the Official Forecast data.

Please refer to official Bureau of Meteorology products for information on how hot each day and night will be during the three day period.

This product utilises model forecast data and is supplied for evaluation purposes and service interruptions are possible.

Heatwave Forecasts

Heatwave Situation for Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday (3 days starting 21/02/2017)

Small low intensity heatwave areas are forecast over interior of the Capricornia (QLD) and Arnhem (NT) districts.

Heatwave Situation for Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday (3 days starting 22/02/2017)

Low intensity heatwave conditions are forecast to develop through southern Queensland and the interior of NSW. The low intensity heatwave eases through the Arnhem (NT).

Heatwave Situation for Thursday, Friday, & Saturday (3 days starting 23/02/2017)

Patchy low intensity heatwave conditions are forecast through southern QLD and northern NSW. Low intensity heatwave conditions commence down the Western Australia west coast south of about Onslow.

Heatwave Situation for Friday, Saturday, & Sunday (3 days starting 24/02/2017)

Similar low intensity heatwave conditions for Western Australia with a small severe area identified about the far southwest. The low intensity heatwave contracts to the central interior of Queensland and eases through NSW.

Heatwave Situation for Saturday, Sunday, & Monday (3 days starting 25/02/2017)

Low intensity heatwave conditions shift inland through the Gascoyne to the southwest with an easing of severe conditions. The low intensity heatwave subsides through central Queensland.
