Heatwave Situation for Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday (3 days starting 18/10/2017)

Low intensity heatwave over the western parts of the NT's Top End. Low grading to severe with a very small spot of extreme heatwave conditions across WA's Kimberley region and adjacent far northern parts of the Pilbara and Northern Interior districts.

Heatwave Situation for Thursday, Friday, & Saturday (3 days starting 19/10/2017)

Severe to extreme heatwave conditions across far northern parts of WA through the Kimberley District crossing into the adjacent northern parts of the Pilbara and Northern Interior districts. Low intensity heatwave conditions fan out away from the extreme to severe centre. Low intensity heatwave conditions across central and western parts of the NT's Top End and over the Tiwi Islands.

The Heatwave Forecast is a Bureau of Meteorology product that shows the location of heatwaves, severe heatwaves and extreme heatwaves for the last two three-day periods and the next five three-day periods. It uses some analysis Numerical Weather Prediction model data, not the Official Forecast data.

Please refer to official Bureau of Meteorology products for information on how hot each day and night will be during the three day period.

This product utilises model forecast data and is supplied for evaluation purposes and service interruptions are possible.

Heatwave Forecasts

Heatwave Situation for Friday, Saturday, & Sunday (3 days starting 20/10/2017)

Low intensity heatwave conditions through southwestern parts of WA's Kimberley District grading to severe through the adjacent areas of the Pilbara District. Low intensity heatwave conditions spread through western parts of the NT's Top End.

Heatwave Situation for Saturday, Sunday, & Monday (3 days starting 21/10/2017)

Heatwave conidtions contract through northern WA with only a small spot of low intensity heatwave conditions identified centred near Kuri Bay. Elsehwere low intensity heatwave conditions continue through western parts of the NT's Top End with a very small, localised spot of severe near the town; Wadeye.

Heatwave Situation for Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday (3 days starting 22/10/2017)

Low intensity heatwave conditions continue through western and central parts of the NT's Top End with a very small localised spot of severe conditions along the north coast near Warruwi and McCluer Island.

Heatwave Situation for Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday (3 days starting 23/10/2017)

Low intensity heatwave conditions continue through western and central parts of the NT's Top End with an area of severe conditions along the north coast near Maningrida spreading inland towards Jabiru.

Heatwave Situation for Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday (3 days starting 24/10/2017)

Patches of severe heatwave conditions across the NT"s Top End particularly through coastal and adjacent areas wrapping around Van Diemen Gulf. Low intensity conditions fan out away from this and extend through most parts of the Top End and along the adjacent WA north coast to Kuri Bay.
