IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for 0600UTC Chart Issued at 6:38 pm EDT Thursday on 30 March 2023 Tropical Cyclone "Herman" is located in the Indian Ocean, south of Christmas Island. A significant region of convective and high cloud is present to the east of a trough that extends from the Pilbara coast, through central Western Australia and into a low off the Geraldton coast. This band of cloud covers most of central and southern Western Australia and extends into South Australia, through the Northern Territory and into central Queensland. A low pressure system in the Tasman Sea is producing thick cloud that covers much of Tasmania and eastern Victoria. A ridge in the Bight is driving moist onshore flow, which is producing areas of low cloud through Victoria, western Tasmania, coastal South Australia and New South Wales. The rest of the country is mostly cloud free.
