A broad upper level trough moving across southeast Australia has produced a
middle to high level cloud band. A large field of convective cloud is evident
in a cold southwesterly airstream over southeast SA, VIC, and TAS.

A broad surface trough of low pressure extending from the South West Land
Division in WA, through the Top End of the NT to southeast QLD has triggered
nearby convection. Thunderstorms earlier observed in QLD and WA were also driven
by this trough.

The remainder of the continent is predominantly clear tonight as a ridge extends
from a high over the Bight across the country.
