A low pressure trough extends through much of central Australia down to a cold
front clipping the south coast of Victoria. This trough is triggering extensive
thunderstorm activity throughout much of the country, particularly in QLD where
it is combining with an upper level trough and a moist onshore flow.

Further south the front now lies just to the east of Tasmania and has brought a
low-level cloud band to both southern Victoria and Tasmania.

A low pressure system in the Bight is bringing low cloud to the SA coast as well
as dragging some middle level cloud down from a low embedded within the trough
in central WA.
