A cold front and low is generating a broad area of thunderstorm activity over
the Tasman Sea. 

A second front is generating mid-high level cloud over Tasmania and southern
parts of Victoria and South Australia. This front has also extended low cloud
over southwest parts of Western Australia.

Low cloud over remaining southeast parts of the continent is due to a moist
westerly flow directed by a high pressure system over central parts of the

Southeast wind flow is directing low level cloud near Cape York Peninsula.

The remainder of the continent is largely cloud free under the influence of a
high pressure ridge.
