Issued at 6:38 pm EDT Thursday on 05 March 2015

A monsoon trough is generating areas of thunderstorms about the Kimberley and
Pilbara coasts of Western Australia. High and middle level cloud is streaming
from this area through the interior and across the Bight. An established upper
level trough is generating this extensive cloud band. Thunderstorms are also
active over large areas of northern WA, the Top End and far north Queensland.

Further south, middle level cloud ahead of a surface trough is located over
Tasmania, with high level cloud associated with the jet stream moving over
southern Victoria.
