IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 0000UTC chart on 5 May 2015 Issued at 11:44 am EST Tuesday on 05 May 2015 A strong cold front is impacting southeast Australia with a surge of cold air behind it causing isolated thunderstorms along southern coasts. This front connects to an deep low pressure system southwest of Tasmania. A cloud band ahead of the front lies along a trough extending over eastern Victoria and Tasmania. A trough over the Coral Sea is generating an area of shower and thunderstorm activity. Patchy low cloud extends over parts of the east coast. The remainder of the country is generally clear due to a ridge of high pressure extending from the west.
