Tropical Cyclone Owen is evident over western Cape York Peninsula with
associated primary convective bands generating showers and thunderstorms across
the north of the country.

Extensive cloud band from Queensland east coast to eastern NSW and adjacent
Tasman Sea is associated with a low pressure trough extending from tropical
cyclone Owen through eastern parts of Queensland to a low centred over western
New South Wales. Extensive area of cloud also covers Victoria, Tasmania and
southeastern parts of South Australia associated with this low pressure system.

Areas of patchy cloud is evident along a trough extending from the southwest
corner of WA through to the northern parts of the NT. The central part of the
country and much of WA is cloud free due to a ridge of high pressure.
