IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for 0000UTC Chart Issued at 12:16 pm EDT Friday on 03 February 2023 A trough extends from the northern parts of the Northern Territory to a shallow low in the southern Gulf of Carpentaria through Qld to northeast NSW with areas of cloud and embedded thunderstorms in its vicinity and to the north. Much of the northern and central parts of Qld is also covered by mainly middle level cloud. A trough extends from the Pilbara and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia southwards to just off the coast from Perth with areas of cloud and isolated thunderstorms in its vicinity. A complex low pressure system over Tasmania and Victoria is generating a large area of mainly low and middle level cloud over the southeast of the continent while the associated cold front and its cloud band has now moved to the east of Tasmania into the Tasman Sea. Low level cloud can be seen along much of the southern coastline of the country, associated with onshore flow. The rest of the country is mostly cloud free.
