IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for 0000UTC Chart Issued at 12:05 pm EDT Saturday on 04 February 2023 A band of mid to high level cloud and thunderstorms is associated with a trough extending from the northern parts of the Northern Territory to a shallow low in southern Cape York Peninsula and extending further south to the northeast corner of NSW. A trough extends from the Pilbara and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia southwards along the coast. Areas of mainly middle level cloud with a few thunderstorms can be seen near and to the west of this trough. A complex low pressure system over Tasmania is generating a thick cloud band over Tasmania and southern Victoria. Low to middle level cloud associated this the system spreads over southeast New South Wales and much of Victoria. Onshore flow is generating scattered low level cloud along of the southern coastal areas of the continent. The central inland part of the country is mostly clear due to a ridge of high pressure.
