The monsoon trough over the Indian Ocean links to severe Tropical Cyclone
Marian, which is just off the chart, west of WA.

A separate branch of the monsoon trough stretches over the Coral Sea. It extends
eastward from a developing Tropical Low off the Cairns coast. This low is
generating deep convection with embedded thunderstorms. Cloud is also "spilling"
southeastward from this low over southeast QLD and northeast NSW.

An inland trough over central WA is generating cloud across much of WA, the
Nullarbor and extends further eastwards over southwestern half of SA. Meanwhile
a cold front is passing over Tasmania and its associated cloud band covers
Tasmania and parts of the Bass Strait.
