Areas of middle level cloud with embedded thunderstorms are observed over the
interior of Western Australia and the Northern Territory, triggered by a broad
surface trough combined with afternoon heating. A second surface trough is
moving north along the Queensland coast, with a line of thunderstorm activity
stretching across eastern Queensland.

A strong cold front is crossing the central Victoria and eastern Tasmania, with
low cloud associated with the front observed in the vicinity of the front. Cold
air to the west of the front is represented by cellular clouds with occasional
thunderstorm activity.

Some patchy high cloud is drifting across the southwest of WA, meanwhile, the
remaining interior parts of the country are under mostly clear skies.
