A trough south of WA has a cloud band that extends over the southwest of the
state. Another trough across western NSW and western Vic is maintaining a band
of cloud over southern Vic, and Tas.

A surface trough extends from the Kimberley region of WA through the NT then
south. Areas of cloud can be seen near and to the east of this trough with some
active thunderstorms over the northern tropics.

Major cloud development is also associated with a surface trough that lies near
New Caledonia. This trough links to a low pressure system southwest of Lord Howe
Island.

The rest of the country is mostly clear apart from areas of low cloud about the
southern coasts.
