IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for 0600UTC Chart Issued at 6:15 pm EST Thursday on 19 May 2022 Low cloud covers the southeast and east of the continent, due to onshore flow. A cloud band with embedded thunderstorms covers the centre of the continent, with embedded thunderstorms evident over the Nullabor along the SA / WA border. This is moving into southwest Queensland and northern and central inland NSW now and will start to affect the east coast of the continent tomorrow. This cloud is mostly associated with a disturbance in the middle and upper levels of the atmosphere. A weak surface trough near the southwest corner of WA continues to bring further low to mid level cloud onshore and thunderstorms offshore to land areas. Cool are from the south training a front now in the Tasman Sea is responsible for widespread low level clouds over Tasmania and coastal regions of Victoria. The deep tropics of the continent remain mostly cloud free at this time.
