A cloud band extends over eastern NSW with showers and rain areas persisting
about the central coast. Thunderstorms are active over northeast NSW and parts
of southeast Queensland. Thunderstorms are also active off the Mid North Coast
and Hunter Coast. The cloud band continues offshore and merges with a cold front
over the northern Tasman Sea.

Patchy low cloud lingers about Gippsland in Victoria and the west coast of
Tasmania. A surface trough and a weak upper trough is generating patchy middle
level cloud over the southeast parts of Western Australia. Patchy low cloud is
also evident for southwest districts of Western Australia.

The remainder of the continent is mostly clear under the influence of a high
pressure ridge.
