Ex-Tropical Cyclone Owen is centred offshore of the coast of Mackay, Queensland
with associated cloud band mostly off the coast.

A low centred southeast of Tasmania and associated trough maintains a band of
cloud over the Tasman Sea, with thunderstorms near its northern tip.
Low cloud covers far southeastern South Australia and southern areas of Victoria
in the southerly flow between the low and a high south of the Bight. Areas of
high cloud are present over the Kimberley and Northern Territory.

Areas of cloud are present along a trough extending from southeastern WA through
the NT to the central Gulf Country in western Queensland. Thunderstorm activity
along this trough is being assisted by an upper level disturbance. Thunderstorms
are also occurring over central WA and south towards the Esperance coast, with
another small area on the NSW north coast..

Central Australia and much of the rest of WA, except the far southwest, is
mostly cloud free.
