A trough extends northwest from the Bight to a low in the Pilbara region of WA.
Another trough extends southeast from the Torres Strait Islands into a low over
the northern Tasman Sea and a large band of cloud with embedded thunderstorms is
associated with this trough.

A high in the Tasman Sea is driving moist onshore flow along the coastlines of
New South Wales and southern Queensland, producing areas of low cloud. Another
high to the west of Perth is driving moist onshore flow along the southern
coastline of Western Australia, producing areas of low cloud.

A trough extending from the Gulf through to southern Queensland is triggering an
area of thunderstorms.

The rest of the continent is mostly cloud free.
