Satellite Notes for the 0000UTC chart on 29 August 2014

Issued at 11:23 am EST Friday on 29 August 2014

Areas of cloud with isolated thunderstorms over the Tasman Sea are associated with a deep low pressure system and an upper level disturbance. Moist onshore flow has brought areas of low level cloud to coastal New South Wales.

A large band of cloud with embedded thunderstorms can be seen near southwest WA associated with an active cold front. High level cloud can be seen ahead of this front in the Bight.

Low cloud remains over southern Victoria due to fog that developed overnight.

The remainder of the country is mostly clear due to the presence of a high pressure ridge.
