A deep low pressure system over New Zealand and associated cold pool are
producing low cloud over much of the Tasman Sea and widespread middle level
cloud and some thunderstorms near New Zealand.

A complex region of low pressure is south of South Australia and has multiple
cold fronts and troughs. Patchy high and middle level cloud is crossing South
Australia, Victoria and Tasmania ahead of the fronts. Some low cloud is over
southwest Western Australia. High cloud is streaming over northern Australia
from the north.

A ridge of high pressure is responsible for keeping the rest of the continent
mainly cloud free.
