A broad cloud band extends from northern parts of the Territory to northeastern
New South Wales and is associated with an upper trough. Isolated embedded
thunderstorms also remain about the Top End and Gulf Country.

A cold front is moving over waters just to the south of Western Australia. The
remainder of Australia is mostly cloud free although a little high cloud is
streaming into the northwest Gascoyne region of WA from Severe Tropical Cyclone
"Kate" which remains slow moving to the west of the Cocos Islands.
