A surface trough extends from the central part of the country to Tasmania while
high presure ridges cover southern Queensland and southwest WA. A large, mainly
high and middle level cloud band, associated with the trough covers southern SA,
southern NSW, much of Victoria and Tasmania.

Areas of cloud and active thunderstorms can also be seen across the Kimberley
region in WA and about the northern parts of the NT.

Elsewhere it is mostly clear apart from patchy cloud along the coastal areas of
northern Queensland and areas of low cloud over southern coastal and nearby
areas of WA.
