A vigorous cold front has now mostly pushed offshore and is tracking eastwards
across the Tasman Sea. Behind the front extensive smoke areas from northeastern
NSW and southeastern QLD bushfires are visible, while large areas of "speckled"
cloud can also be seen over Victoria and Tasmania in the cold air mass behind
the front.

A second cold front with associated middle level cloud is moving over southwest
Tasmania. In the Bight, a high pressure ridge is dominating southern parts of
the continent, producing an onshore southwesterly airstream and pushing low
level cloud along coastal areas of South Australia and Victoria.

High cloud over the interior of Western Australia is associated with an upper
air disturbance and a broad surface trough.
