A tropical trough lies across the NT Top End with a Tropical Low in the Gulf of
Carpentaria. Large areas of convective cloud and thunderstorms are being
generated by this system throughout the Gulf, as well as over Cape York
Peninsula. Further thunderstorm activity can be seen over central and eastern
QLD and into the NSW, near a low pressure trough.

Another convective cloud area off the northwest coast of WA is associated with
another Tropical Low.

A broad low pressure area over central and southern WA is generating mid to high
level cloud with thunderstorms.

A dominant high pressure system to the southeast of the continent is generating
an onshore easterly airstream with patchy low cloud along the east coast.
