IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for 1800UTC Chart Issued at 5:33 am EST Friday on 20 May 2022 Low to mid level cloud covers the southeast and east of the continent, due to onshore flow. A cloud band crosses SA, southern Queensland and much of New South Wales. This cloud is mostly associated with a disturbance in the middle and upper levels of the atmosphere. A weak surface trough near the southwest corner of WA continues to bring further low to mid level cloud onshore. Cool air from the south trailing a cold front now over New Zealand is responsible for widespread low level clouds over Tasmania and coastal regions of Victoria. The deep tropics of the continent remain mostly cloud free at this time.
