A trough extends north from a low east of Esperance to a low in the Pilbara
region, triggering thunderstorms through the interior of Western Australia.
Another trough lies off the Top End coast and stretches southeast through Cape
York Peninsula to a low off the coast of southeast Queensland. A large band of
cloud is associated with this trough and low.

A trough also extends through central New South Wales and southwestern
Queensland, with remnant cloud from earlier thunderstorms present.

A high situated to the west of Tasmania is driving moist onshore flow over the
eastern coastlines of New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, producing areas of
low cloud.

The rest of the continent is mostly cloud free.
