Severe Tropical Cyclone "Oma" is situated over the Coral Sea, well away from the
Queensland coast. A large area of convection surrounds the system.

A middle level cloud band with an embedded line of active thunderstorms extends
from the southeast coast of NSW towards the south island of New Zealand. Cold
air in the wake of the front appears as speckled low level cloud crossing
Tasmania, southern parts of Victoria and southeastern South Australia.

Storms through the north of WA, the interior of the NT and down through central
QLD lay along a trough of low pressure.

The remainder of Australia is relatively clear.
