Areas of cloud and active thunderstorms cover much of inland Western Australia due to an infeed of moisture and an upper trough to the west. An active cold front is now over southeast New South Wales. This front has an associated cloud band and an area of low cloud lies in its wake over Tasmania and southern Victoria. Thunderstorm activity continues over the tropical north of the country.
