IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for 0600UTC Chart Issued at 8:38 pm EDT Wednesday on 01 February 2023 A monsoon trough extends from a low in the western part of the Northern Territory through to the Queensland border causing a broad area of cloud with embedded thunderstorms. A trough extending from a low in the Tasman sea is reaching across the entire eastern coastline of Queensland bringing thick cloud and thunderstorms to the area. A weakening cold front is moving over northeastern Tasmania. Areas of low cloud are present on the south coast of Western Australia and South Australia due to a moist onshore airflow. The rest of the country is mostly cloud free.
