Middle and upper level cloud covers much of central Australia and extends towards the Great Australian Bight. Isolated embedded thunderstorms lie within this cloud mass, mainly near the South Australia - Western Australia border, and are associated with area of lower pressure.
Afternoon thunderstorm activity is also seen about the Kimberley district in WA and through eastern districts of Queensland.
High cloud lies over much of Tasmania and is streaming from a low and associated cold front further to the west.
