Severe Tropical Cyclone "Oma" is situated over the Coral Sea, well away from the
Queensland coast. A large area of convection surrounds the system.

A middle level cloud band with isolated thunderstorms extends from the northern
coast of NSW towards the South Island of New Zealand. Low level cloud in the
cool onshore flow following the front is visible over the NSW coast and eastern

Extensive low and middle level cloud is approaching Tasmania, Victoria and South
Australia from the west ahead of a cold front.

Storms through northern and central WA, northern NT and northeastern Queensland
are triggered by low pressure troughs.

The remainder of Australia is mostly clear.
