A vigorous cold front is moving across northeastern NSW and southern Queensland.
Its middle and high level cloud has largely moved out over the Tasman Sea but
some high cloud remains over northeastern NSW. The extensive area of "speckled"
cloud over southern Victoria, Tasmania and off NSW coast is the cold air mass
behind the front.

Patchy cloud can also be seen near the surface trough near the Gulf Country in
Queensland. High cloud over the interior of Western Australia is associated with
an upper air disturbance and a broad surface trough.
