IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 0600UTC chart on 06 July 2015 Issued at 5:30 pm EST Monday on 06 July 2015 A surface trough and associated low pressure system over western Bass Strait is bringing extensive cloud to southern NSW, Victoria and Tasmania. Southwesterly winds west of the trough are resulting in patchy areas of low cloud about the South Australian coast, while a cold front is approaching the southwest of Western Australia. Further north, southeasterly trade winds are generating areas of low cloud along the east Queensland coast. Patchy cloud is also evident about the Top End. The remainder of Australia is relatively clear due to a broad ridge of high pressure through the interior of the country.
