A strong cold front is moving through the Great Australian Bight, brushing the
southern coastal areas of Western Australia. The front has produced an extensive
cloud band with embedded thunderstorms. Cellular cold air clouds and isolated
thunderstorms can be seen behind the front.

Some middle and high level cloud extends over far north Queensland from the
north.

The remainder of the continent is mainly cloud free under the influence of a
high pressure ridge extending across central Australia.
