A band of middle and high level cloud is streaming from western Queensland,
across New South Wales and eastern Victoria to the Tasman Sea. This feature is
associated with a low pressure trough and an upper level trough. Widespread
thunderstorm activity is observed over the Northern Territory and the northern
interior of Western Australia.

Further south, a cold front is crossing Bass Strait and Tasmania, with a band of
lower level cloud associated with this system. Another frontal system is visible
over the Southern Ocean. Patchy high cloud is drifting over the far southwest of
Western Australia.

The remainder of the country lies under generally clear skies.
