Thunderstorm activity is increasing across the tropical north of the country, in
northern QLD. A low is present in the Coral Sea with convective cloud bands. The
monsoon trough has returned to the northwest of the country, with an embedded
developing tropical low to the far northwest of the Pilbara WA.

A surface trough across inland QLD and into eastern NSW has associated
convective development primarily in central QLD and northern NSW.

A cold front has crossed Tasmania bringing low level cloud with a low to the
south of TAS and a significant cloud band east of TAS.

Otherwise onshore flow in the Bight is pushing low level cloud over southern SA,
WA and VIC, while the remainder of the country is mostly clear due to a ridge of
high pressure over the Great Australian Bight.
