A cloud band with isolated embedded thunderstorms extends over eastern NSW and
is associated with a low pressure trough. This feature is producing showers and
rain areas along the coast and ranges with the main activity around Sydney. The
clound band continues offshore and merges with a cold front over the Tasman Sea.

Patchy low cloud lingers about coastal Victoria and the west coast of Tasmania.
A surface trough and a weak upper trough is generating patchy middle level cloud
over the Goldfields district of Western Australia.

The remainder of the continent is mostly clear under the influence of a high
pressure ridge.
