IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for 1200UTC chart 19 January 2017 Issued at 12:11 am EDT Friday on 20 January 2017 A trough with embedded low pressure systems extends from the Pilbara district of WA through central SA and to western VIC. Another trough lies across the QLD/NSW border area. Thunderstorms can be seen in the vicinity of these troughs. A moist north to northwest windflow covers a broad area to the north of the troughs, triggering thunderstorms over northern WA, the Top End in NT and far northern parts of QLD. Low cloud is visible along the NSW coast due to onshore windflow. Middle level cloud streaming across TAS and eastern VIC is due to an upper trough approaching TAS from the west.
