The monsoon trough over the Indian Ocean links to Tropical Cyclone Marian, which
is just off the chart northwest of WA.

A separate branch of the monsoon trough stretches over the Coral Sea, extending
eastward from a low off the north QLD coast. This low is generating deep
convection with embedded thunderstorms over the North Tropical and Townsville
coasts. Cloud is also "spilling" southeastward from this low over southeast QLD.

An inland trough over central WA is generating cloud across much of the southern
and eastern inland parts of WA and the Nullarbor.
