Extensive smoke areas from the northeastern NSW and southeastern QLD bushfires
are visible extending to the east.

A surface trough with associated cloud and showers extend from Queensland across
Northern Territory to through WA. Cloud is more extensive through the Kimberley
with isolated shower and thunderstorm activity near the coast.

Over southern Australia, a westerly airstream persists over Victoria and
Tasmania. A cold front is moving across Tasmania. A high in the Bight extends a
ridge through NSW and central Australia, hence clear conditions. Onshore winds
are bringing patchy cloud to the far south coast of WA.
