A trough extends from southwest WA to the NT and further east. Associated cloud
and thunderstorms are present over NT.

Much of the continent is cloud free due to a high pressure ridge while low cloud
is present along the southeast and the north of the country. A few thunderstorms
are present along the southeast coast of Qld. Clouds over Vic and Qld are
associated with troughs.
